Abstract

Előbbinek 8%, utóbbinak 42% a belső megtérülési rátája (IRR). Ezzel szemben intenzívebb feltételek mellett minden esetben biztosított a megtérülés. ---------- There is an increasing demand for natural and healthy products in Hungary as well. As a result of this, the organic products of sea buckthorn are spread in a widening range, too. The purpose of the study is to determine the economic results in connection with the sea buckthorn production and processing in different intensity orchards. A deterministic model calculation was carried out for a more extensive (“A”) and a more intensive (“B”) scenario based on primary data, which were collected from sea buckthorn farms. The models referring farm sized of 10 hectares include technological data. In the more extensive technology which can be characterized by poor soil quality (12 AK/ ha) and without irrigation the yield is 5 t/ha from the second harvest. In contrast,in the more intensive technology the yield of 22 t/ha can be realized in the similar harvesting time, under irrigation and good soil quality (32 AK/ ha). The establishment cost of orchards are different as well, in case “A” it is 2.3 million HUF per hectares and it is 4.1 million HUF per hectares in “B” one. The result of the investment analysis shows that both scenarios return; but there is significant difference in the Discounted Payback Period (DPPr = 3,24%). Scenario “A” returns in 12 years with Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 8%, as for “B” it returns in 6 years with the IRR of 42%. The result of the sensitivity analysis based on yield and price changes shows that on the one hand the more extensive plantation is not profitable in unfavourable conditions; on the other hand the return is realized in every case in more intensive terms.
