Abstract
In the framework of a clear decline in the business of the great Spanish Livestock Markets
and in most types of cattle trade in Torrelavega Market, in particular Friesian and cross
calves males and females rearing of one to three weeks and heifers and dairy cows in first,
second and third birth we have tried to examine the evolution and trends of entries, transactions,
and destinations, number and estimated value and most frequent prices from the
weekly and annual information available, even comparing the later with national ones. Market
activity continues to decline in concurrency, transactions and amount of business, significantly
oriented towards the predominance of rearing and fattening calves.
