Abstract

The article presents the influence of globalisation processes in the macro-scale on the activity conducted in agriculture’s environment and, especially the impact of these processes on the demand for food and its global supply (in the OECD countries). The observable changes call for the introduction of new institutional solutions in the sphere of cooperation between food producers and the trade infrastructure. The introduction of new solutions leads to the emergence of new forms of co-operation in the sphere of sale of mass-produced and niche food articles which permit to meet the demand of the emerging new sub-segments of the market in Poland both in urban agglomerations and in rural areas.
