Abstract

The authors want to show how the actas allow a qualitative analysis that provides a different and complementary view of the more exhaustibly worked (even if a really exhaustive quantitative approach remains a very difficult task) impact of the economical conjunctures and of the agrarian policies over the domestic production units, a view where factors as the daily struggle for property and land tenancy, the indebtedness or the falure to comply with the hereditary obligations, among many others, come to the surface. Besides, insofar as this empirical analysis falls within a context that begins to be known rather in detail –the one of the lands in Lleida during the economical autarchy–, its results achieve a new dimensions and allow a better assessment of the social costs that should be assumed by the great majority of the rural population in the Catalan hinterland after the implementation of the economical programme of the General Franco’s regime.
